L'Oreal Men Expert BarberClub Short Beard and Face Moisturiser review

L’Oreal have what could be the longest product name ever with their Men Expert BarberClub Short Beard and Face Moisturiser, and you can’t accuse them of missing out on the beard bandwagon with their BarberClub range, but is it any good?

Well, to be honest, I’m not impressed. The product smells good - a typical cedar wood style scent – but the product itself feels thin and sticky to the touch. When applied to my short beard it applies well but the stickiness comes through and my hands are left feeling… you’ve guessed it… sticky and my beard much the same.

L’Oreal claim this product is the product for your daily short beard and face care routine. It’s free from parabens, colourants and ingredients from animal origin, and will soothe discomfort, soften facial hair and moisturise your skin all day long. Does it? Nope. 10-15 minutes after applying my beard felt no different, almost to the extent I couldn’t tell I had used it. I didn't try it on the rest of my face, the stickiness put me off doing that.

I almost admire L’Oreal for giving beard care a go with their BarberClub range, but at the same time can’t help but think: If you’re going to do it, do it well. This product, for me at least, just doesn’t cut it.
