Clinique for Men SPF21 Moisturizer review

Clinique have been delivering skincare products for 50 years and their extensive men’s range is gaining popularity. American spelling aside, what do I think of their Clinique for Men SPF21 moisturizer?

First thing you’ll notice is that the name has changed. The photography on their website calls it Broad Spectrum SPF21 moisturizer. This review is going to be based what I have, and I’m going to make the assumption the product on Clinique’s website is the same, just with new branding.

Their website says it’s a lightweight, oil-free moisturiser with sun protection that provides broad-spectrum UVA/UVB protection through a mix of sunscreens. It’ll moisturise while strengthening skin’s moisture barrier and it will be absorbed quickly, leaving skin balanced and comfortable, while minimising surface shine.

So how is it? First impressions are good. For a start you get 100ml which is twice as much as most moisturisers on the market. That makes it £13.00 for the industry standard 50ml, good value for a luxury product.

It’s a nice texture and a little goes a long way. There is a slightly off-white colour to the lotion and it has a slightly clinical smell but I put that down to the factor 21 sun protection. It feels thicker to the touch than you might expect but it applies evenly and easily. At first, I thought it was going to greasy but once applied it absorbed quickly, as advertised, and feels non-greasy to the touch. A morning application kept my skin moisturised and comfortable all day and on inspection a few times throughout day didn’t leave my skin shiny which I was impressed with.

Clinique have a great product here. It’s good value, and the bonus of added SPF sun protection is a genuine and valid selling point.
