Bulldog Original Beard Shampoo and Conditioner review
We’re getting well into spring now, and with the change in climate comes a change in grooming habits. April’s first review of the month sees me take on Bulldog’s Original Beard Shampoo and Conditioner.
Warmer weather might encourage some of you to trim or even shave off your beards but for those of you who are keeping them, an affective and reliable beard shampoo is essential. Hotter weather equals a hotter face. A hotter face is a sweatier face, and a sweatier face is a dirtier face.
Bulldog say that all their products are purpose built for men and contain amazing natural ingredients. Their 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner contains aloe vera, camelina oil and green tea. It’s specially formulated to cleanse your beard leaving it soft, fresh, nourished and conditioned. Bulldog products never contain artificial colours, synthetic fragrancies or any ingredients from animal sources. My kind of company.

Leave the product on your beard for 2/3 minutes for a much softer finish.
For your money – and this bottle cost £6.00 – you get 200ml of their beard shampoo and conditioner. Good value, and on using on my short / medium length beard I didn’t need to use much to get great coverage. It foams up beautifully; I could really see and feel the product coating my beard. For best results, I found leaving it on for a few minutes worked best and after rinsing my beard felt much softer and easier to manage and style.
They recommend finishing with their own Original Beard Oil or Original Beard Balm (review coming soon), but of course any oil or balm product will work just fine. Have a look at my review of Refinery’s Beard and Shave Oil to see what I thought of that.
So what’s the verdict? I like it, and I’m currently using it on a daily basis as my go-to beard shampoo. I’m sufficiently convinced that the added conditioner is valid too – my beard feels clean and soft when used – something that doesn’t happen very often, or even at all, when just using regular face wash.
